It’s been a busy year for City of Levelland Municipal Court Judge Shawn Wilson as the department is getting ready to hold hearings. “I am always encouraging citizens to push their cases to trial if they feel the need to argue the ticket,” said Wilson.

Levelland Council provides various department updates

The Levelland City Council held a brief regular meeting Monday evening at the Levelland City Hall Council Chambers which featured several department updates. City Manager James Fisher provided a small update regarding the Red Flour Beetles within the Kauffman Addition.

Commissioners’ Court sets meeting

The Hockley County Commissioners’ Court will be holding a special meeting Monday, January 22, beginning at 9 a.m. in the Hockley County Courthouse. Agenda items for the meeting are as follows: Read for approval the minutes of the regular meeting held at 9 a.m.

Levelland council member announces bid for mayor

Breann Buxkemper, current city council for District C and Mayor Pro-Tem, has announced her candidacy for the mayor of Levelland. Buxkemper became a city council member in September 2018. She is in her third term serving the City of Levelland.

SPC announces new endowment

After many years of effort and hard work, Lynn Vitatoe has given $10,000 to the Board of Directors of the South Plains College Foundation to establish the Serena Tayse Memorial Nursing & LeeAnn Paxton Honorary Business Scholarship Endowment.
