Bill Powell files city council candidacy

Mr. Bill Powell, long-time resident, and current Executive Director at South Plains Community Action Association in Levelland, has filed his candidacy for City Council member for District A. Powell has lived in Levelland since 1980. He has served as Executive Director at SPCAA since 1992.

Sundown hosts pet vaccination clinic

The City Of Sundown will be hosting a pet Vaccination Clinic on Saturday, January 20, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Sundown Fire Station, 702 S. Slaughter Ave. Dr. Tracy Jenkins with College Ave. Animal Clinic will be conducting the clinic. Sundown Municipal Code Section 2.

2024 Primary Ballot By Mail applications open

The Hockley County Election Office is off and running for the planning of the 2024 Election Season. Election personnel remind voters over 65 and voters with a disability who would like to vote by mail in 2024 will need to request and a complete a new Ballot By Mail application.

LISD hears long-term facility recommendations

The Levelland ISD Board of Trustees held their monthly regular meeting on Wednesday where the group was presented the highly anticipated Community Facilities Committee presentation of their Long-Term Facility Recommendations.

Local state sales tax allocations

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar sent cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose districts $1.1 billion in local sales tax allocations for January, 3.3% more than in January 2023. The allocations are based on sales made in November by businesses that report tax monthly.
