High Plains begins water level survey

High Plains Underground Water Conservation District No. 1 (HPWD) staff members will begn annual water level measurements on January 2, 2024. These annual observations are one of the most essential services HPWD provides.

Producers encouraged to use Farmers.gov

Farmers.gov gives you one place to do business with USDA’s Farm Service Agency (FSA) and the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), including accessing your farm records, maps, and common land units. You can create a farmers.gov account for the farmers.

Hockley Grand Jury returns 11 indictments

The 286th Judicial District Attorney’s Office announced that a Hockley County Grand Jury convened on January 3, and considered cases against 12 individuals.

Levelland approves general election resolution

The Levelland City Council was provided multiple updates and has approved a resolution for the City of Levelland Uniform General Election. A brief meeting, Levelland Assistant City Manager Joe Cavazos spearheaded the meeting as City Manager James Fisher has been dealing with an illness.

DPS, LPD arrest two Tues. morning

The DPS Criminal Investigations Division and the Levelland Police Department conducted a No-Knock Search Warrant in the 1000 block of Avenue G, which resulted in the arrest of two individuals Tuesday morning. Around 8 a.m.

Cochran County Stock Show announces schedule

The Cochran County Stock Show is slated to begin January 10 and conclude January 13 at the Show Barn. On Wednesday, January 10, weigh-ins begin at 4 p.m. for lambs and goats will follow after. On Thursday, January 11, barrow weigh-ins will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

BEAUTIFUL BABY GIRL - Covenant Hospital Levelland welcomed their first newborn of the year, January 2 at 3:01 p.m. Parents, Joshua Martin and Kaylyn Phillips welcomed Auburn Martin who weighed seven pounds and nine ounces and was measured at 19.5 inches long.
