Levelland ISD’s 2023-2024 journey has begun. As I made my way to each campus during the first few days and weeks of the school year, I felt a sense of pride at the excitement our students showed. It is obvious how important all of students are to the campus leaders and staff at Levelland ISD.

Red Flour Beetle Spray schedule

Levelland-Hockley County Emergency Management will be sending notification texts when the city establishes a set schedule for Red Flour Beetle spraying. Additionally, emergency management will be updating the city Facebook page and website with the schedule.

The new system is the culmination of two years of planning and work and is an integral part of the Law Enforcement Academy Curriculum. The Texas Department of Public Safety announced the promotion of Texas Ranger Captain Wende O. Wakeman to the rank of major, making her the first female Ranger major in the organization’s storied twohundred- year history.

It has been two years coming, but the South Plains College Firearms Range is open, with perhaps the most important part of that is that the range is open to the public on Mondays from 4-7 p.m. while school is in session.

BACK IN BUSINESS - South Plains College and its’ Law Enforcement Program have been utilizing firing ranges outside of their campus for an extended period of time due to much needed renovations for their in house firing range.
