SPC Firearms Range sets open date

The Firearms Range at South Plains College Law Enforcement Technology Department will reopen to the public at 4 p.m. on Sept. 11. The range has been closed for the past 18 months while the 40-year-old facility underwent safety improvements.

7/30/2023 - 1200 block of S. College Avenue - 6:56 A.M. Multiple officers with the Levelland Police Department were dispatched to the area concerning a suspicious person. After further investigation, one male individual was placed into custody and taken to the Hockley County Jail.

7/31/2023 - DISPATCH 4:09 P.M. - CLEARED 6:35 P.M. HOCKLEYCOUNTY The Levelland Police Department advised the Levelland Fire Department of a one-vehicle rollover with one ejected and one trapped in the vehicle at the 3000 block of Sunrise Lane.

Covenant holds annual back-to-school event

Newly signed legislation is making changes to the existing AMBER Alert system to allow local area activation under certain conditions. Texas Governor Greg Abbott signed HB 3556 into law on June 13, 2023, and the law immediately took effect.
