The Levelland Loboettes hosted the Snyder Lady Tigers this past Tuesday night for Senior Night where the Loboettes won 72-40.
The first quarter of the game, Levelland was doing well as they were able to outscore Snyder 194, taking a 15-point lead early, going into the second quarter.
The second quarter was better for the Loboettes as they were able to score another 22 points before the half while their defense held the Lady Tigers to just seven points, making the score 41-11, heading into the halftime break.
For the third quarter of the game it was a closer game as although Levelland had the lead they were barely able to outscore the Lady Tigers 16-15, extending their lead by one-point going into the fourth quarter.
For the final quarter of the game, the Loboettes were able to outscore Snyder for the last time as they outscored them 15-14 and take the last district game of the season.
Leading the Loboettes in scoring against the Lady Tigers was Emery Smith with 16 points. Mia Morin and Presley Smith both had 12 points a piece, Kaylee Penner had eight, Leilani Sanchez had seven, Brooklyn Cornish had six, Sydnii Joyce had five points, Destynii Jones had three, Trinity Wafer had two and Emily Perez finished the game with one.
Levelland shot the ball form the field for 29% from the field while going 34% from long-range shots and 68% from the freethrow line in their contest.
The Loboettes were able to outrebound the Lady Tigers 36to-24 and win the turnover battle as they forced 27 while only giving up the ball 13 times throughout the night.
The Levelland Loboettes progress to 25-6 on the season and finish off district play with a 8-2 record, losing only to the Lubbock Liberty Cooper Lady Patriots. The Loboettes first round of playoffs is against the Brownwood Lady Lions this Monday at 5 p.m. in Colorado City.
