Loboette softball continues dominant start

The Levelland Loboettes are on fire this year as they started off the season with a 11-0-1 record.

The team is led by first-year Head Coach Adrian Holland who came from Estacado this past season.

This year he has the Loboettes looking great and taking a #6 spot in the 4A rankings of state.

They added to the win column this past Tuesday night with a win over the Muleshoe Lady Mules as they won 8-1, at home.

The game opened up with Muleshoe getting their only run in the top of the second inning after they hit a double that drove in one, making the score 1-0 early.

That was the only time the Lady Mules had the lead as Levelland tied things up in the bottom of the second after an error was able to get a run to make the score 1-1.

It didn’t stop there though as Loboette Delaney Delgado hit a home run to left field, driving in two runs and Madi Seat hit another solo home run to make the score 4-1 in the blink of an eye.

The scoring came to an end in the bottom of the fourth inning after Levelland was able to get four more runs.

Delgado was able to hit a double on a fly ball to center field to drive in two and freshman Marilyn Barrientes hit a inside the park home run on a fly ball to center field to make the final score 8-1 against Muleshoe.

Aubree Rivas earned the win for the Loboettes as she gave up seven hits and one run over seven innings, walking two and striking out 12 on the day.

The Loboettes accumulated 11 hits in the game with Saydi Mendez leading the team with three hits in four at bats. Danica Rivera had two hits for Levelland with three at bats and Mendez stole two bases in the game.

The Loboettes didn’t commit a single error in the game with Madi Seat having the most chance in the field with 12.

Levelland progresses to 120-1 on the season as they took on the Richland Lady Royals and Lubbock High Lady Westerners this past Thursday night and the Fossil Ridge Lady Panthers and Decatur Lady Eagles this past Friday in their last tournament for the year in Saginaw.
