Track athletes compete at state championships

Several local athletes competed in the UIL State Championships this past weekend in Austin.

For Levelland, Ryan Jeanneret placed fifth with a time of 2:00.30 in the 800 Meter.

For Ropes, Kolter Dockery placed second with a time of 10.70 in the 100 Meter. In the 4x100 Relay, Mason Marmolejo, Reese Williams, Branson Simental and Kolter Dockery placed third with a time of 42.28.

For Smyer, Micah Zapata placed seventh with a time of 4:43.71 in the 1600 and placed seventh in the 3200 Meter with a time of 10:06.84.

For Whitharral, Nathanial Sansom placed second with a distance of 156 '1' in the Discus. In the High Jump, Daniel Rodriguez placed sixth with a height of 6’0”. In the Long Jump, Brent Robinson placed sixth with a distance of 21’1”. In the Triple Jump, Greg Johnson placed seventh with a distance of 41’5.75”.
