  • ROPES PREPARES FOR APPROACHING VOLLEYBALL SEASON – With games beginning just around the corner, Ropes athletes and coaches put in a lot of hard work practicing and learning volleyball skills and strategy at a recent camp.

    August has arrived and with it, volleyball season for several schools in Hockley County.

    The Levelland Loboettes will kick off their official season with a home game on Aug. 11 against Denver City (6 p.m.); Aug. 18 at Abernathy (6 p.m.); Aug. 20 at Lubbock Cooper (4 p.m.); and Aug. 25 against Plains (6 p.m.).

    The Ropes Lady Eagles will face Friona at home on Aug. 1 (6 p.m.); and Aug. 25 at Lubbock Christian (6 p.m.).

    The Smyer Lady Bobcats will start their season with a game at New Home on Aug. 8 (noon) and Grady (2 p.m.); Aug. 11 at Wilson (6 p.m.); Aug. 18 at Ira (4 p.m.); and a home game against Wilson (6 p.m.)
