Levelland's Got Talent contest entry deadline extended

The deadline for local and area talent to enter Levelland’s Got Talent and compete for cash prizes has been extended to Tuesday, Sept. 22, according to event organizers.

“We continue to welcome contestants to perform in the show and have extended the entry deadline,” said Irene Tienda, president of the Levelland Breakfast Rotary Club. “There is amazing talent in our community, and this will be an opportunity for rising stars to showcase their skills at the historic Wallace Theater.”

Potential contestants are encouraged to submit their entry forms online at www.wallacetheater.com/ levellands- got- talent. Information, rules, release agreement and how to submit the required twominute audition video can be found on the entry forms.

General admission tickets are now available for the variety show hosted by the Levelland Breakfast Rotary Club and presented by South Plains Community Action Partnership at the Wallace Theater.

Tickets are available at City Bank and Prosperity Bank and online at the Wallace Theater’s website for $20 per person. Breakfast Rotary Club members will also be selling tickets. Seating is limited The talent show will be held Saturday, Oct. 3 in conjunction with the Falling for the Wallace Festival that will take place in downtown Levelland. Doors will open at 7 p.m. with the show beginning at 7:30 p.m. Performance sponsors include City Bank, McDonald’s of Levelland, Hockley County Credit Union and Bill and Kay Powell.

Acts that are accepted to perform at Levelland’s Got Talent will be rated by a panel of judges and cash prizes of $250, $150, $100 will be awarded to the top three acts, respectively.

Tienda said talent can include vocal performance, instrumental performance, dance, comedy, magic/ illusion, a variety act or any talent an individual feels is performance worthy. Potential contestants must complete an official entry form and submit a twominute audition video by the entry deadline of Sept. 22. All entries and audition videos will be screened by a selection panel, and finalists will be notified of their selection by Sept. 23 to prepare for the show. Contestants selected to perform Oct. 3 must pay a $25 entry fee.

“We are planning a fun, family-oriented event that we hope will become a yearly favorite for the Levelland community,” said Tienda. “As a bonus, your admission ticket gets you one free bag of popcorn and a free soft drink from the Wallace Theater concession during the performance.”
