Funeral services for Esperanza “Hope” Soliz Flores, 68, of Morton, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 27, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church of Morton, with Father Heriberto Mercado, Deacon Sergio Vidales and Deacon Frankie Ruiz officiating.
Interment will follow in the Morton Memorial Cemetery, under the direction of Head Duarte Funeral Home of Levelland. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday, August 25 and Friday, August 26, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, with the reciting of the Rosary to be held at 7 p.m. both nights. Visitation will resume at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, August 27, until service time at St. Ann’s Catholic Church.
She passed away August 20, 2022, in Lubbock. Hope was born December 11, 1953, to Ralph, Sr. and Pilar Sabala Soliz, in Morton. She graduated from Morton High School, Class of 1973. Hope married Joe Flores June 2, 1973, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Morton. She graduated from South Plains College with her child development certification. Hope is a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church of Morton. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Tony Soliz. She is survived by her spouse of 49 years, Joe Flores of Morton; sister, Angelica Soliz of Morton; brothers: Alex Soliz of Lubbock, Ralph Soliz III of Harlingen, Pete Soliz, Sr. and Pete Soliz, Jr., both of Morton; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.
