The Sundown Roughettes hosted the Sudan Hornettes Friday night and lost an overtime nail biter, 47-45.
The Roughettes slipped behind Sudan early and trailed by four at the end of the first quarter, 17-13.
Sundown seemed out of sync against the aggressive defense of Sudan in the second and the Nettes got hot and took a 12 point lead into halftime, 30-18.
In the third, the Roughettes started to find a rhythm and outscored Sudan 8-6 and entered the fourth quarter trailing, 26-36.
Shortly into the fourth quarter, Sundown trailed by 13 points, but found their rhythm on offense and defense.
Sundown outscored Sudan by 10. A last second three pointer from Allie McCormick sent the game into overtime tied at 42.
A gritty overtime period from both teams resulted in low scoring that gave Sudan a two point victory over the Roughettes 47-45.
The Roughettes opened district play December 13th at home against the Plains Cowgirls.
