The Levelland Loboettes played against the Big Spring Lady Steers where they picked up their second district title in a row.
The Levelland Volleyball team is coached by Whitney Gibson who was tasked to Coach Levelland going into the 2021 season a few years ago. Three years later and two district championships later, Coach Gibson is leading her team on to do big things with a bunch of her leaders and her great coaching.
Levelland was going into the game against Big Spring with a overall record of 21-17 on the year while being 8-1 in district play. The Lady Steers went into the game with a overall record of 1426 with a district record of 6-3.
Levelland won the game against the Lady Steers in a clean sweep of the game winning all three sets 25-19, 26-24 and 29-27. Levelland was down almost every set of the game but was not giving up their district championship game as they came back in every set to take the game from Big Spring.
The game was set up for the Loboettes to win as Tanaeasia Brackens had it going early having 12 kills and two blocks in the game.. Taylyn Ledesma had nine kills, Addison Campbell had six, Mia Morin had another five, Trinity Wafer had three, Hailiee Estrada had two and Maddie Stafford had one kill.
Although Stafford didnt have many kills she was dominant from the service line going 21-23 with 17 points and six service aces. Teammate Aubree Gaona added five points on two aces for the team as well.
Levelland out-killed the Lady Steers 32-16 while Big Spring was able to outblock the Loboettes 32.
The Levelland Loboettes did amazing for the teams second district championship in a row as they finished up district play against the Snyder Lady Tigers this past Tuesday where they played as the away team at 6 p.m.
