Hockley County was ranked
26th in the state in oil production while Cochran County was ranked
49th in August according to preliminary production figures released by the Railroad Commission of Texas earlier this month.
Hockley County produced
776,144 barrels of crude during August, according to the RRC. The county also produced 528,778 Mcf of gas and 116 barrels of condensate. The county was ranked 91st in natural gas production. Production was from
3,348 active wells. Hockley County has had 2,190 injection wells, according to the RRC.
Through August, the county had produced 6,472,524 barrels of crude and 4,192,879 Mcf of natural gas.
Cochran County produced
133, 667 barrels during August. It also produced 736,677 Mcf of natural gas to be ranked
151st in the state. Production was from 1,374 producing wells.
The county also has 660 injection wells. Through August, Cochran County had produced
1,537,051 barrels of crude and
927,325 Mcf of gas.
Lamb County produced13,060 barrels of crude in August and was ranked 127th in the state in production, It also produced
15,088 Mcf of gas to be ranked
173rd in the state.
Production was from 67 wells. The county also had11 injection wells. Through August, Lamb County had produced 110 barrels of crude and 115,734 Mcf of gas, Terry County produced
176,662 barrels of crude to be ranked 45th in the state, It also produced 24,109 Mcf of gas to be ranked 166th in the state. Production was from 746 wells; the county also has 378 injection wells. Through August, Terry County had produced 1,486382 barrels of crude and 202,385 Mcf of gas, Statewide and county crude oil and natural gas production for August 2023 reported in the tables below came from 161,799 oil wells and 86,513 gas wells.
