The Morton Indians went up against the All-Saint Patriots this past Monday where the team fell 67-21 as the away team.
The first quarter got out of hand for the Indians as they were having trouble stopping the Patriot offense from driving in and getting what they wanted. At the end of the first quarter Morton was trailing 17-2.
In the second quarter Morton was trying to find their rhythm offensively as they were able to score eight points in the second quarter while only allowing 11 points.
They closed the lead, but not by much as they would still trail 28-10 going into the half.
Coming out of the break it was all Patriots as they went on a 17-to-8 run on the Indians. The team would not be able to bounce back from the deficit that they put themselves in as they would trail 45-13 at the end of the third.
From there on they would lose the game off of a big run that the All-Saints offense would put together in the fourth, not letting up on gas pedal against the Indians.
The leading scorer for the Indians was Alex Lopez who had nine points throughout the night with seven of those points coming from the first half of the game.
Anebal Castaneda was able to put up four points on the night, Britton Boggs and Jaeden Alvarado each had three points a piece. A.J. Mendoza had two on the night in the teams loss as well.
The Morton Indians fall to 01 on the year and will rematch the All-Saints Patriots this upcoming Tuesday at home at 7:30 P.M.
