Lobos fall to Loboes 50-41, at home

The Levelland Lobos hosted the Monahan Loboes Dec.5 for a UIL High School Basketball game where the team fell 50-41.

The first quarter of the game started off bad for the Lobos, as they couldnt stop the Monahans offense from attacking the basket.

The Lobos were trailing early in the first with the score 20-7.

The second quarter Levelland was finally able to do some damage as they went on a 13-4 run on the Loboes and would go into the halftime break trailing only by four points.

The second half was more of Monahans as they were able to keep the lead on the Lobos and take the win by outscoring Levelland 26-21 and winning the game 50-41.

The leading scorer for Levelland was Eryk Jones as he had 12 points in the game.

Jaden Castillo had nine, Ozzie Salano had four, Jeffery Cisneros had four and Graham Gibbs had three.

Four Lobos had two points on the night in Sean Landrum, Landon McCoy, Ethan Salazar and Ivien Jackson. Elijah Jordan was able to get one point to go from the free throw line as well.

Levelland was outrebounded 44-to-32 on the board. The Lobos were able to force 10 turnovers in the game, but Monahans was able to get another 16 off of Levelland.

Levelland shot the ball well from the free throw line as they were able to hit for 43 percent on the night and 31 percent from the field.

The Levelland Lobos fell to 4-5 on the season and will face off against the Denver City Mustangs this Friday at Seagraves at 7:30 P.M.
