The Morton Indians hosted the Meadow Broncos this past Friday for their third game of district play where they won 6223.
From the tip-off it was all Morton as they were able to take control of the game early and outscore the Broncos 20-to-3 taking a big lead going into the second quarter.
For the second quarter of the game it was more of the same story for the Indians as they were able to put up another 17 points in the second while holding Meadow to only seven, going into the second half with the score at 37-- 10.
For the Indians it would be Cade Lyon who would lead the team in scoring at the half with 10 points, six of them coming from beyond the arch.
Going into the third quarter of play Morton would slow down on their scoring output as they would only put up another eight points in the third quarter, but would still outscore the Broncos as they held them to only four.
Going into the final quarter of play, Morton would finally be outscored in the fourth quarter 9to-8. Although they were outscored in the fourth it was too late for Meadow as they wouldn’t be able to stop the Morton offense all night long.
Three players would finish in double digits throughout the night.
Cade Lyon and Alex Lopez both finished with 13 points a piece and E.J. Rivas finished with 10 on the night. Two more Indians finished with seven points in their game in Zeph Silvas and A.J. Mendoza. Jaeden Alvarado and Andres Bejarano each finished with two points a piece and Brayden Villarreal had another one for the team.
The Morton Indians progress to 12-7 on the season while going 2-1 in district play.
The teams next few games are against the Lubbock Titans as they faced them this past Tuesday and will face them again this Friday as the away team at 6:15 p.m.
