The Morton Indians faced off against the Lubbock Titans at home where the team won 69-42.
The first quarter of the game started off well for the Indians as they would outscore the Titans 24-7 taking a huge lead to start the game.
The teams defense was on locks all night long as they were able to grab every rebound either offensively or defensively and they were able to force so many turnovers it was hard for the Titans to settle in and work their offense.
The second quarter of the game was more of a closer game as the Titans seemed to have found a rhythm and outscore the Indians 18-to-14 cutting Morton’s lead down to 13 going into the halftime break.
The score going into the break was Morton leading the Lubbock Titans 38-25.
Cade Lyon for the Morton Indians would lead the team in scoring as he would have 11 points at the half with nine of them coming from beyond the arch.
Going into the third quarter of play Morton would go on another big run in the game as they were able to put up 17 points in the third quarter while holding the Titans to only 13. The score at the end of the third was Morton leading 55-38.
For the final quarter of play the Indians would have their best quarter of the game as they would hold Lubbock under double digits of scoring with only four points allowed while scoring another 14 to take their big win.
Leading the team in scoring for the Indians would be Cade Lyon as he would not be stopped throughout the night as he had 19 points, 12 of them coming from long range.
E.J. Rivas had another nine for the team, Britton Boggs had eight, Alex Lopez had seven, two Indians would finish with six points a piece in Zeph Silvas and Anibal Casteneda, Jaeden Alvarado had three and two more Indians would finish with two points on the night in A.J. Mendoza and Brayden Villarreal.
The Morton Indians took the team win and will progress to 13-7 overall while still sitting at 2-1 in district play.
The teams next game will be up against the Anton Bulldogs where they will be on the road next Tuesday at 8:00 p.m.
