Loboettes cruise past Snyder 59-31, on the road

The #3 Levelland Loboettes faced off against the Snyder Lady Tigers this past Tuesday where the team won 59-31, on the road.

The first quarter of play for Levelland was great as they went on a big run to give them the early lead in the game 20-4 at the end of the first.

For the second quarter of the game Levelland would keep pouring on to their lead as they would get another 15 points to fall for them while only allowing eight points to be scored before the halftime break.

The score at the half was Levelland leading Snyder 35-12.

Carly Tienda for the Loboettes would lead the team in scoring at the half with 14 points going perfect in the half from the free throw line.

The third quarter for Levelland wasn’t the best quarter as they would finally be outscored 13-to-9 but would still hold the 19 point lead going into the fourth quarter of play.

For the final quarter of play though, Levelland would go on another big run to outscore the Lady Tigers 14-to-6 and take their big district win 59-31.

Leading the team in scoring for Levelland was Loboette Carly Tienda who finished with 21 on the night.

One other Loboette finished in double digits in Emery Smith.

Olivia Velardez had seven, Leilani Sanchez had six, two Loboettes finished with four in Tanaeasia Brackens and Presely Smith, and three more Loboettes finished with two points a piece in Mia Morin, Maddie Staffords and Destynii Jones.

The team shot the ball well as they went for 42% from the field while going 22% from beyond the arch. The team also shot for 67% from the charity stripe going 10for-15.

Levelland was able to force 31 turnovers on the night while only giving the ball up 17 times of their own.

Levelland progresses to 24-2 on the season while going 2-0 in district place sitting in first place.

The Loboettes played against the Sweetwater Lady Mustangs this past Friday on the road and will face off against the Estacado Lady Mats at home this Tuesday at 6:15 p.m.
