Levelland Lobos take care of Lakeview Chiefs

The Levelland Lobos traveled to Lakeview to take on the Chiefs in district play where they won 74-69.

The game was a high scoring one throughout as both defenses were having a tough time stopping one another throughout the night. The first quarter of the game had Levelland outscoring the Chiefs 18-to-17 and taking the one point lead going into the second quarter of play.

For the second quarter of play Levelland was able to outscore the Chiefs once more 17to-14 and extending their lead to four points going into the halftime break.

The score at the end of the half was Levelland leading 35-31.

The leading scorers for the Lobos at the half was both Jayden Castillo and Ozzie Solano as both of them had 10 points a piece at the half.

Going into the third quarter of play Levelland had their best scoring quarter of the game as they were able to get 25 points to fall for them while holding Lakeview to 18 points.

The score at the end of the third was Levelland leading the Chiefs 60-49 holding a good lead.

For the final quarter of play Levelland would be outscored by six points keeping the game close but not by enough as they were able to get the win and get back on the road.

For the Lobos the leading scorer on the team was Castillo as he was able to finish with 29 points in the game with 19 of them coming from the back half of the game.

Three more Lobos were able to get in the double digits for scoring throughout the game in Solano as he had 14, Travion Holland had 11 and Sean Landrum had 10.

Eryk Jones finished the game with eight points and Jose Muro had another two in the Lobos win.

Levelland progresses to 1016 on the year while going 1-2 in district play sitting in fifth place.

The teams next game of the season is against the Snyder Tigers who they will host at 7:30 p.m. this Friday.
