The Ropes Eagles took on the Seagraves Eagles this past Tuesday at home where they were able to pick up the district win with a score of 55-42.
The game was a very high scoring one as both teams were able to get under the basket to get some layups going for them.
The first quarter of the game had Ropes outscoring Seagraves 18-to-13 early on in the game due to Ropes being able to drive in the paint with ease.
The second quarter of the game was closer with the scoring slowing down but the Ropes Eagles were still getting shots to fall for them as they put up another 13 points before the halftime break and only letting up eight.
The score heading into the halftime break was Ropes leading 31-21.
Leading the Ropes Eagles in scoring at the half were both Darren Kizer and Reese Williams as both players had accumulated six points at the half.
Going into the third quarter of play Ropes picked up right where they left off as they had another 13 points to fall for them but it didnt matter as Seagraves was able to even it out getting 13 of their own points to fall for them.
Going into the final quarter of play Ropes would put the last touches on the game as they would outscore Seagraves 11-to-8 and win the game 55-42.
Leading the team in scoring in the night was Landon Nale as he was the only Eagle to get in double digits with 15 points on the night.
Williams finished off on the night with eight points, three Ropes Eagles finished with seven points on the night in Kizer, Bode Franklin and Brennan Bearden, E.J. Mendez had four, Cutter Stumbo had three and both Kade Franklin and Brady Bryan had two points a piece in the teams win.
With this win the Ropes Eagles now move onto 20-6 in the regular season and 5-2 in district play sitting in third place.
The Ropes Eagles next game of the season will be against the no. 4 Plains Cowboys as the visiting team at 7:30 p.m.
