The Sundown Roughnecks faced off against the New Home Leopards this past Friday as the visiting team where they lost 7616.
The first quarter had the Leopards taking a commanding 15-to-2 lead to start the game.
The second quarter Sundown had a hard time stopping the New Home offense as they let up 31 points before the half but they were able to put up six more points of their own going into the break.
The score at the end of the half was New Home leading Sundown 46-8.
Going into the third quarter of play Sundown would be outscored once more 12-to-8 to trail by even more going into the final quarter of play.
For the fourth quarter Sundown’s struggles would continue as they would be held scoreless while allowing the Leopards to get another 18 for the game to end.
Leading the team in scoring for the night was Watson Evans as he was able to get five points, Kye Powell finished with three points and four Roughnecks finished the game with two points a piece in Adan Escamilla, Caleb Clausen, Jayson Martinez and Jaxon Rodrigez in the teams loss.
The teams falls to 7-14 on the season while going 3-5 in district play on the year.
The Roughnecks next district game is against the Seagraves Eagles this Friday at home at 7:30 p.m.
