The Ropes Eagles took on the Tahoka Bulldogs this past Friday in district play where they won at home 43-26.
The game started off great for the Eagles as they were able to hold the Bulldogs scoreless in the first while they were able to get 10 points to go in the first due to them being able to attack the basket getting all of their points from the paint.
For the second quarter of play the team was able to outscore Tahoka once more 13to-8 and extend their lead going into the half.
The score at the halftime break was Ropes leading the Bulldogs 23-8.
Leading the Eagles in scoring at the half was Brady Bryan as he had eight points at the half with all of them coming from inside the paint.
Going into the third quarter of play Ropes wasn’t able to keep up with the Bulldogs in scoring as they were out done by two points putting the score at 32-19, Ropes leading, heading into the final quarter of play.
For the fourth quarter Ropes was able to hold onto the lead and take the district win against the Tahoka Bulldogs at home.
Leading the team in scoring was Darren Kizer who was the only one who finished with double digits with 10 points on the night.
Bryan finished with eight points, Bode Franklin had seven, Kade Franklin had six, Cutter Stumbo had five , Reese Williams had four, Landon Nale had two and Brennan Bearden finished with one point on the night.
The Ropes Eagles progressed to 21-6 on the season while going 6-2 in district play sitting in third place behind undefeated New Home and 6-1 Plains Cowboys.
Ropes next game in district play is against the Post Antelopes next Tuesday at home at 7:30 p.m.
