Morton routes Meadow 61-15

The Morton Indians took on the Meadow Broncos this past Tuesday as the visiting team where they won 61-15.

The first quarter of the game started off great for the Indians as they were able to hold the Broncos to only two points while getting nine of their own points to fall to take the seven point lead going into the second quarter.

For the second quarter of play they outscored Meadow again 18-9 to extend their lead to 15 at the half.

The score at the halftime break had Morton leading Meadow 26-11.

The leading scorer for the Indians at the half was Zeph Silvas who had eight points at the half with five of his points coming from the second quarter.

Going into the third quarter the Indians found another gear as they went on a 25-3 run and extending their lead to 37 points going into the fourth quarter.

For the final quarter of the game Morton’s inside game would lead the team to the victory as they got all of their fourth quarter points from inside the paint while holding the Broncos to one point.

Alex Lopez led the team in scoring on the night with 15 points.

A.J. Mendoza had nine, Silvas had eight and four Morton Indians had six points in Cade Lyon, E.J. Rivas, Jaeden Alvarado and Anibal Casteneda. Britton Boggs had another four and Andres Bejarano finished with two points in the teams win.

The team advances to 19-8 overall while going up to 7-2 in district play.

The teams next game of the season is against the Lubbock Titans this Tuesday at home at 6:15 p.m.
