Bobcats end season on loss to Olton

The Smyer Bobcats hosted the Olton Mustangs for the team’s final game of the season in basketball play where the team lost 67-26.

The first quarter of the game started off rough for the Bobcats as they were outscored 24-6, as they were not able to stop Olton from getting inside the paint.

For the second quarter of play Smyer was able to hold Olton to just nine points while they had nine of their own fall for them as they went into the halftime break trailing.

The score at the halftime break was Smyer trailing 33-15.

Leading the Bobcats in scoring on the night was Brayden Wade who had nine points at the half, six of them coming from under the basket.

Going into the third quarter of play Smyer went on another cold streak as they would be outscored 20-6 falling deeper into their deficit. The score going into the fourth quarter of play was Olton leading 53-21.

For the final quarter of play the Mustangs would get another 14 points to fall for them while they had five of their own points to end the game.

Leading the Bobcats in scoring on the night against Olton was Wade as he finished with 12 throughout the night.

Rylan Smith had another 10 points and both Micah Zapata and Gio Garcia finished with two points a piece in the team’s loss.

Smyer ends their season with a 6-24 record while going 0-13 in district play.
