Loboettes remain undefeated in district play

The Levelland Loboettes traveled to Big Spring to take on the Lady Steers for a district matchup where the Loboettes dominated,12-1.

Big Spring was the first team on the board at the bottom of the first after they hit a home run to left field to get them their only run of the game.

Levelland was able to recapture the game early at the top of the second inning after Delylah Paredez singled and Danica Rivera singled, each scoring one run for the Loboettes, making the score 2-1.

At the top of the fourth inning Levelland was able to score five runs on five hits. Angelica Gonzalez doubled, scoring two runs, Tambree Vargas doubled, scoring one run, Aubriana Rivas doubled, scoring one run and Madison Seat singled, scoring one run to put Levelland’s lead to 7-1.

The Loboettes weren’t done offensively as they were able to score five more runs on six hits at the top of the fifth inning. Saydi Mendez singled, scoring two runs and Gonzalez singled, scoring two runs, and an error scored one run to put the game out of reach and give Levelland the district win 12-1.

Rivas stepped in the circle first for the Loboettes as she allowed five hits and on run over five innings, striking out four and walking six in the contest.

The Loboettes piled up 19 hits in the game. Rivas, Paradez and Seat each collected three hits for Levelland. Mendez and Gonzalez were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for the Loboettes. Rivera collected two hits for Levelland with two at bats. Levelland turned in one double play in the game. Levelland was sure-handed as they didn’t commit a single error in the game. Seat had the most chances in the field with six.

The Levelland Loboettes progressed to 13-11 on the season while staying undefeated in district play with a record of 30.

The Loboettes played against the Snyder Tigerettes this past Tuesday at home and will get ready for their second game of the series against Sweetwater this Friday at home at 5 p.m.
