The Levelland Lobos suffered a district road loss on Wednesday to the Estacado Matadors this past Wednesday, 10-3.
The first team on the board was Estacado in the bottom of the second inning after one runner scored on an error by Levelland and a batter hit a single to drive in a runner to give Estacado the lead 2-0.
In the bottom of the second inning Estacado extended their lead to 4-0 after an error and walk scored two runs.
Levelland was able to get onto the board in the top of the fourth inning after Rusty Johnson grounded out, scoring one run.
The Matadors had the rest of their six runs go in the bottom of the fourth inning making the score 10-1 late in the game.
In the top of the fifth inning Levelland was able to get on the board after Noah Tienda hit a sacrifice ball to score one run.
Levelland got their last run in the top of the sixth after Rance Massey hit another sacrifice fly ball to get Johnson in to make the final score 10-3.
The loss went on Tienda as he allowed three hits and four runs (two earned) in two and onethird innings, striking out three and walking one.
Massey came in for relief for the Lobos as he gave up two hits and five runs (four earned) in one inning, striking out none and walking three.
Tyler Pemberton finished off the last two and two-third innings for Levelland as he gave up five hits and one run, striking out two and walking none.
Tienda, Johnson and Massey led the team in RBI’s with each collecting one in the game. They each all led the team in runs with one a piece.
The Lobos fall to 10-13-1 on the season while going down to 1-4 in district play.
The Levelland Lobos played against the Lake View Chiefs this past Friday at home and will get ready to take on the Big Spring Steers this upcoming Tuesday at home at 7 p.m.
