Community members are throughout Hockley County are being reminded to be dispose of firework debris following their activities.
Fireworks are not considered household hazardous waste and can be placed in your garbage container for removal.
Fireworks should not be placed in recycling or yard waste containers. If there are unused fireworks, be sure to store them in a dry, cool place, away from electrical appliances.
A popular place to light fireworks are county roadways. Individuals and families are encouraged to clear the roadway of any lingering debris as that will provide hazards for vehicles passing through.
