The Levelland Loboettes took on the Greenwood Rangerettes this past Tuesday night as the away team where they fell in a clean sweep, falling to 2-5, including tournament play.
The first set Levelland trailed 9-2, before calling a timeout to get the team composed. At the end of the first set it would be all Greenwood as they won it 25-15.
For the second set of the game, Levelland had a handful as they held the lead for most of the set as the most they led by was three points. Greenwood’s offense would come alive after they called a timeout with them leading the Loboettes 16-13. Eventually Levelland had to call another timeout as the Rangerette lead began to widen with the score. It was the closest set of the game that had Greenwood squeezing out the 26-24 win over Levelland for the night.
The final set of the game Levelland tried keeping the score close as the most they trailed by was seven points when the score sat at 17-10. The Loboettes were able to get four straight that forced Greenwood to call a timeout to stop the momentum from the Levelland offense, and it proved to be a good rhythm killer as they would eventually win the set 25-15.
Levelland did well in the kill column as they had 18 throughout the night with Addison Campbell leading the team with eight, Mia Morin and Trinity Wafer having three a piece, Mia Sepulbeda with two and both Aubree Gaona and Hailiee Estrada tallying up one on the night.
Gaona also led the team with service column with eight points along with two aces and just one fault. Estrada and Danica Rivera also collected an ace on the night as well.
Levelland will get ready to take on the Plains Cowgirls this upcoming Tuesday after competing in their second tournament of the year in San Angelo this past Friday and Saturday. Plains is going into their contest against Levelland with a record of 1-2 on the season.
