The Ropes Eagles took on the Seagraves Eagles this past Friday night where the Eagles dominated the game, 42-7.
In the first half of the game, Ropes was up 26-0 after a lethal run game.
Ropes had two touchdowns in the first quarter with one being a five-yard pass and the other being a 22-yard run with both two-point conversions failing making the score 12-0 in the first quarter.
The second quarter had two more touchdowns with both of them being on the ground, the first touchdown was from 44yards out and the second was a 10-yard run to make the score 26-0 going into the halftime break.
The third quarter was all Ropes once again as they had two passing touchdowns along with a safety from the team’s defense to make the score 42-0 at the end of the third quarter. The first touchdown pass was form 47-yards out, then the team forced a safety from their defense and the last score was a 46-yard pass.
The game was capped off with a touchdown run from the Seagraves Eagles with an eightyard run to make the final score 42-7 giving Ropes the win.
Kade Franklin led Ropes in passing with four passes for 99 yards and three touchdowns on the night.
Ryland Kieth led the Eagles in rushing on the nigh with 11 carries for 158 yards and one touchdown. Mason Marmolejo had another 11 carries for 114 yards and two touchdowns, Zayden Pittman had three carries for 22 yards, Kaden Riker had three carries for 19 yards and Trak Crow had one carry for one yard.
Colton Mortensen led the team in receiving yards with two catches for 52 yards and one touchdown while Reese Williams had two catches for 47 yards and one touchdown.
The Ropes offense was on a roll as they had 413 total yards on the night with the team’s defense being on fire as well holding Seagraves offense to only 99 total yards.
Leading the Ropes Eagles in tackling was Victor Saenz with 20 total tackles and six tackles for loss. Riker had another 19 tackles with six of them for a loss and a forced fumble, Brady Bryan had 18 with six of them for a loss along with a forced fumble and a sack, Branson Simental had 12 tackles with one pass break up, Kolter Dockery had 10, Reid McCaleb had nine, Elijah Flores had nine, Mike Sanchez had eight, Pittman had five, six Ropes Eagles had four tackles in Reese Williams, Kieth, Brayden Hogg, Maddux Sierra, Jackson Lehnen and Tyler Harbuck, Mike Williams had three, Trak Crow had three and finally Jace Fowler had two.
The Ropes Eagles had five three and outs on defense along with one turnover off of a punt/ PAT block on the night.
The Ropes Eagles progress to 8-1 on the season while going up to 3-1 in district play. Ropes finished off district play this past Friday at home against the Plains Cowboys at 7 p.m.
