The Ropes Eagles hosted the Plains Cowboys this past Friday night for the team’s last district game of the season where they won, 63-0, on Senior Night.
From start to finish, Ropes was on top of their game as they lead against Plains 49-0 at the halftime break.
They put the finishing touches at the end of the game by putting up another two touchdowns at the end to have a share of the district title along with Tahoka.
Kade Franklin threw well with 117 yards and four touchdowns with no interceptions on the night.
Mason Marmolejo led the team in rushing with nine carries for 151 yards and two touchdowns. Trak Crow had another 39 yards for two touchdowns, Brayden Hogg had 35 yards and one fumble, Zayden Pittman had 31 yards, Ryland Kieth had 27 yards, Jace Adams had 25 yards and Kolter Dockery had 17 yards.
Leading the Eagles in receiving yards was Dockery with 81 yards and one touchdown. Reese Williams had another 20 yards with one touchdown, Kieth had 10 yards with one touchdown and Bode Franklin had six yards for one touchdown.
The Eagles offense had 357 rushing yards along with 117 through the air with two fumbles lost and only four flags in the game.
On the defensive side of the ball for the Eagles, they were able to hold Plains to 43 total offensive yards with 55 passing yards and 12 rushing yards.
Leading Ropes in tackling was Jace Fowler with 19 total tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble. Kaden Riker had 16 tackles with two sacks, Kanon Buckner had 14 tackles, Brady Bryan had 13 tackles with two sacks, Crow had 12 tackles, Elijah Flores had 10 tackles, Mike Sanchez had nine tackles, Victor Saenz had nine tackles, Gabe Sanchez had eight tackles, Jackson Lehnen had six tackles, Tyler Harbuck had five, Branson Simental had four, Colton Mortensen had three, Reid McCaleb had three, Pittman had three, Reese Williams had two tackles, Hogg had two, Broxton Varnell had two and Bode Franklin had one.
The Ropes Eagles are codistrict Champs as they finish off their regular season 9-1. The Eagles first playoff game is against the Sterling City Eagles this Friday in Snyder at 7 p.m.
