Judge Pat Phelan and Cara Phelan are pleased to announce the marriage of their daughter, Katherine Nicole Phelan to Travis Alan Bell.
The groom’s parents are Brad and Tommye Bell of Lubbock. The couple married on October 26, 2024, at 5 p.m. at Fulford Barn in Brownfield, Texas.
The ceremony was held outdoors beneath the canopy of beautiful pecan trees. The wooden altar was draped in white organza accented with greenery. The officiant was the bride’s uncle, Judge Robert Mayfield of Granbury. The ceremony began with the entrance of the groom and his attendants to the song, “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri.
Following the seating of the parents, the bridesmaids and junior bridesmaids walked down the aisle to “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri. Preceding the bride were flower girls Marlee Geisler, Kelli Lara and Cora Bell, followed by ring bearers Karter and Blake Geisler. The bride, escorted by her father, Judge Pat Phelan entered to the song, “How Long Will I Love You,” by Elli Goulding.
The bride wore an Ivory Somerset gown, designed by Madi Lane. The A-line gown featured European buttery crepe, luxurious satins, and organza adorned with delicate lace accents. The Somerset gown had a floral lace bodice, a low scoop back, and a plunge sweetheart neckline. The circle skirt had soft pleating with a cutout lace train. The bride wore a fingertip length, tulle veil that accented the lace train. The bride’s bouquet included peach and white roses, blue thistle, eucalyptus and baby breath.
The groom wore a white button-down shirt, a heathered brown vest and jeans. The bridesmaid wore long slate blue, crepe gowns and carried bouquets of white and peach roses, blue thistle and baby breath. The bride’s attendants were Maid of Honor-Sydney Phelan, sister of the bride, Megan Mesquias, Brooke Walker and McKaile Geisler. The Junior Bridesmaids were Atlee and Chenery Bell, the groom’s daughters.
The groom’s attendants wore matching white button-down shirts and jeans. Their boutonnieres were white roses and blue thistle. The groom’s attendants were Curtis Bell, brother of the groom, Travis Mayers and John Rae.
The ceremony opened to the reading of 1 Corinthians 12: 4-8, read by Judge Mayfield. Following an opening prayer, the bride presented vows to her soon to be stepdaughters, Atlee and Chenery. This was followed by personal vows written by Travis and Katy to each other and the reciting of their matrimonial vows. The bride and groom exchanged rings and were pronounced to be husband and wife. The newly married couple were introduced to their guest to the song, “I’ve Got a Feeling,” by the Black-Eyed Peas.
The reception was held under the twinkling lights that now lit the pecan canopy of trees.
Guests were served a selection of steak or Chicken Parmesan, mixed vegetables, Farfalle pasta, and Caesar Salad. Katy and Travis danced their first dance to “Long Haul” by Ian Munsick. Katy and her father, Judge Phelan presented a choreographed danced to “Daddy Dance with Me,” by Krystal Keith. Following a glorious night of dancing, the couple exited the venue to a cheering crowd creating an archway of sparklers. Katy and Travis honeymooned in Edinburgh, Scotland. Katy and Travis live in Lubbock.
