Loboettes take down Odessa Lady Broncos

The Levelland Loboettes hosted the Odessa Lady Broncos this past Friday night where the Loboettes won, 62-24.

The start of the game was pure domination from the Loboettes as they outscored Odessa 18-4, taking a big 14 point lead going into the second quarter.

In the second quarter it was more of the same story for the Loboettes as they put up another 18 points while they held Odessa to seven, making the score 36-11 at the halftime break.

Leading the Loboettes in scoring at the half was Presley Smith with 13 points, 10 of them from underneath the basket.

Going into the third quarter, Odessa had the most points they scored all game with 12, but Levelland still outscored them with 16, extending their lead to 29 points going into the fourth quarter of the game.

For the final quarter Levelland put the finishing touches on the game as they outscored Odessa 10-1 to win the non-district game 62-24.

Three Loboettes finished in double digits for the game with Presley Smith having 18 points, Emery Smith with 17 and Kaylee Penner finishing with 10 points. Leilani Sanchez had six, Sydnii Joyce and Destynii Jones had four points a piece and Mia Morin finished with three points.

Levelland won in the rebounding category 39-26 against the Lady Broncos while they also led in steals with 21 steals and only gave the ball up 11 times throughout the contest.

Levelland shot the ball for 39% form the field while going 43% from behind the arch and 75% from the charity stripe.

The Loboettes progress to 14-2 on the season as they get ready for district play against the San Angelo Lake View Maidens January 3, at home at 6:15 p.m.
