The Levelland Loboettes took on the Big Spring Lady Steers this past Tuesday night for district play where the Loboettes won in a blowout 8231.
The first quarter went on without a hitch as they girls were looking to get a win after their loss this past Friday night when the Loboettes outscored the Lady Steers 22-9 early finding their groove from long-range.
Their defense was doing a great job as well forcing many turnovers throughout the game with them outscoring the Lady Steers once more in the second quarter 17-5, taking a 39-14 lead at the halftime break.
The third quarter was more of the same as Levelland was lighting the net on fire with their great shooting and tight defense, outscoring Big Spring 21-10 making the score 60-24, going into the final quarter of action.
For the last quarter of the game, Levelland didn’t let up as they played full speed all game long and outscored Big Spring once more, this time 22-7, earning the Loboettes the hard fought win at home.
Leading the Loboettes in scoring on the night was Emery Smith with 21 points. Presley Smith had another 16 points, Sydnii Joyce had 13, Mia Morin had nine, Kaylee Penner and Mia Sepulbeda had seven points, Leilani Sanchez had five points and both Trinity Wafer and Brooklyn Cornish had two points a piece in their team’s contest.
The Loboettes shot the ball well going 50% from the field while going 41% from three-point range. Levelland also hit most of their free throws going 60% from the charity stripe.
Every facet of the game was controlled by Levelland as they led the game in steals 26-to-7, assists 27-to-9 and blocks 4-to-0 throughout the night.
The Levelland Loboettes progress to 20-5 on the season while going up to 3-1 in district play.
The Loboettes next game of the season is against the Lake View Maidens this Tuesday on the road after they played against the Snyder Lady Tigers this past Friday night on the road.
