Whitharral Panthers dominate Meadow on the road

The Whitharral Panthers took on the Meadow Broncos this past Friday night on the road for district play where the Panthers completed the series sweep, winning the game 102-30.

The Panthers were off to a hot start after they were able to score 31 points in the first quarter alone while they held Meadow to just 11 points, taking a 20-point lead, heading into the second quarter of the game.

In the second quarter of the game, Whitharral kept pouring it on with their offense as they were able to outscore the Broncos, this time outscoring them 21-5, extending the teams lead to make the score 52-16, going into the halftime break.

Leading the Panthers in scoring at the halftime break was Damian Rodriguez with 15 points, 10 of them in the first quarter.

Out of the break, the Panthers offense didn’t stop as they scored another 27 points in the third quarter while they held Meadow to another 12 points, taking a 51-point lead going into the fourth quarter of action.

For the final quarter of the game, Whitharral put the final touches on the game as the Panthers defense held them to two points while they added another 23 points to take the district win in another blowout.

Brenton Robinson led the Panthers in scoring on the night with 29 points. Nathan Sansom had another 27 points, Damian Rodriguez had 20, Daniel Rodrigeuz had seven, Jack Griffin and Hudson Dobrobolny had six points a piece, Brolin Kennedy had three points and Dawson Rodgers finished with two points on the night.

The Panthers progress to 17--6 on the season and remain undefeated in district play with a 7-0 record.

The Whitharral Panthers last game of district play is against the Wellman-Union Wildcats next Tuesday at home at 7:30 p.m. after they just went against the Anton Bulldogs this past Tuesday night at home.
