January 4, 1950 – August 21, 2026 Barbara Ross Burton, of Levelland, Texas, passed away on August 21, 2026, at 9:24 a.m., at the age of 76. She was born on January 4, 1950, in St. Louis, Missouri, and was raised in Summerville, Missouri.
In 1969, Barbara enlisted in the United States Navy. While stationed in Jacksonville, Florida, she met her husband, Glendon Leroy Burton Jr., who was also stationed there. They were married in 1970 and began a life together that would span more than five decades.
Their first daughter, Barbara Virginia Burton, was born in 1972 in Brownfield, Texas. Their second daughter, Marsha Lynn Burton, was born in 1977 in Fort Worth, Texas. Barbara and Glendon completed their military careers in 1989 and moved to Levelland, Texas, where they welcomed two grandchildren, Kendon Ross Pinkert and Lillian Rose Pinkert. They spent the remainder of their days in Levelland, surrounded by family and the life they had built together.
Barbara will be remembered for her love of family and the many years she shared with those closest to her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
SHE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY SHE IS SURVIVED BY Her mother, Barbara Wunderle Ross. Her husband, Glendon Leroy Burton Jr.. Her father, Kenneth Eugene Ross. Her brother-in-law and his wife, Eddie and Debbie Burton, and their family.
Her sister, Teresa Ann Ross.
Her oldest daughter, Barbara Burton, and her partner, Monica Pinkert.
Her youngest daughter, Marsha Lynn Burton. Her grandchildren, Kendon Ross Pinkert and Lillian Rose Pinkert. Her brother and sister-in-law, Danny and Gwen Ross, and their family. Her sister and brother-in-law, Roberta and Ed Ross-Fisher, and their family.
Barbara's love and memory will remain in our hearts forever.
