Funeral services set for Elton Vern Spears

Funeral services for Elton Vern “Bugs” Spears, 83, of Levelland, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, November 17, in the Krestridge Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the City of Levelland Cemetery, under the direction of Krestridge Funeral Home of Levelland.

 Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Wednesday, November 16, at Krestridge Funeral Home.

He passed away November 12, 2022.

Bugs was born October 3, 1939, to Arlie and Corine Spears. in Afton, Texas.

He owned and operated Spears Pump Company and later B&J Irrigation.

Bugs was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Loy Spears and Arnold Spears.

He is survived by his wife, Jeannie Spears of Levelland; daughter, Debbie Gipson and husband, Jeff, of Levelland; son, Terry Spears and wife, Patti, of Levelland; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; three great- grandchildren; and brother and sisters: Frankie Pond, Jack Spears, Geneva Spears and B.J. Sandhop.
