JOSEPH ELLIS
Our clan is heartbroken to announce the passing of Joseph “Joey” Benjamin Ellis as of June 11, 2026. Joey was a character all his own annoyingly funny, passionate about his opinions and proud of his Irish roots. He loved his children deeply and was proud of the people they became. He loved playing disc golf with his brother and nephews, spending time outdoors and was an exceptionally talented farmer. Anyone who truly knew Joey would agree that he had a way of making the best of every situation.
Joey enjoyed attending Church On The Rock Dream Center with his family, where they found love, acceptance and happiness. We take comfort in knowing Joey knew the Lord and is now free from the earthly struggles and pains of this life and is enjoying the most precious love in paradise.
Joey is survived by his children, Benjamin Ellis (Tanya), Lilian Northcutt (Cory), and Marissa Ellis (Xavier); Tyler McInturff; five grandchildren, with two more on the way; his mother and greatest champion, Ruth Villegas; his father, Jerry Ellis; brothers Jeremy Ellis (Elisa) Joshua Ellis; sisters Marivel Garcia (Martin), Annabelle DeJesus (Lazaro), Vanessa Castro (Adam), and Donna Villegas-Demel (John); along with 31 nieces and nephews and 22 greatnieces and great-nephews.
Joey was preceded in death by his father, Roy Villegas, his nephew, Jonah Ellis; and Gina Ganaway, who passed away alongside him.
Our family would like to thank the community for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support during this difficult time.
