Church service for Tommy Gattis, age 90, of Morton, Texas, were scheduled for 11:00 AM, Thursday, April 2, 2026 at Morton Church of Christ where Joey Pierce of Levelland, Texas officaited.
Burial followed in Morton Memorial Cemetery. Tommy died Friday, March 27, 2026 in Morton. He was born June 9, 1935 in Taylor, Texas to Guy Andrew and Katherine (Grigsbie) Gattis. He married Carol Pierce in Maple, Texas on March 29, 1956.
Tommy farmed most of his life and he loved being a farmer. He continued helping on the farm, even running a module builder last harvest. Tommy enjoyed traveling with his kids. He loved his family, especially his grandkids and greatgrandkids. Tommy was a member of the Morton Church of Christ. He is preceded in death by his wife, Carol; his parents; and a son-in-law, Ronny Tucker. Tommy is survived by his three sons, Randy Gattis and his wife, Tobie of Morton, Texas, Robbie Gattis and his wife, Rhonda of Lawrence, Kansas and Roger Gattis and his wife, Nita of Sweetwater, Texas; his daughter, Janet Tucker of Tulia, Texas; a sister, Ruth Lamb of Morton, Texas; a brother, Ed Gattis of Burnet, Texas; and his ten grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
