Lady Lopes earn road win

The Whiteface Lady Lopes faced off against the Midland Christain Lady Lions where they took the win 50-31, on the road.

The first half of the game was the closest the game would get as the Lady Lopes had control of the game from the jump.

Whiteface was able to put up 24 points in the first half while holding the Lady Lions to 19.

Hannah Blankenship would be the leading scorer for the girls at the halftime break as she was able to put up seven points with four of them coming from the first quarter.

Going into the third quarter of action it was more of the same story for the Lady Lopes as they were able to get another 12 points to go in the third while only allowing five to be scored.

Finally to put the game away they would outscore Midland Christain 14-to-4 and take the win to progress to 15-3 on the season.

The leading scorer for the Lady Lopes was Blankenship who finished with 17 throughout the night. Tymmyah Olenga finished with nine, Jaedyn Rector had eight, Lainey Sanders had seven, both Emily Blankenship and Emma Ayers had four a piece and Morgan Waggoner finished with two.

The Lady Lopes were outdone on the boards throughout the night as they had 18 rebounds compared to Lady Lions 30.

Whiteface was able to force 15 turnovers while they only gave the ball up six times throughout their game.

They shot the ball well as on the charity stripe they went for 81 percent and from the field the team shot for 41 percent total.

The teams is getting ready to start district play against the Anton Lady Bulldogs as the home team January 2nd at 6:30 P.M.
