The Levelland Loboettes traveled to Saginaw to compete in a tournament where they ended the tournament going 5-1 this past Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
On Thursday of the tournament the Loboettes started the tournament 2-0 as they won against Richland 5-2, then beat Lubbock High 3-0.

For the team’s first game of the tournament the Loboettes beat the Richland Lady Royals by four runs in a defensive game.
The first score of the game came from Richland as they scored on a single on a line drive to center field to make the score 10 in the top of the first.
Levelland answered back with three runs in the bottom of the first inning after Delany Delgado walked, Adrianna Castellano doubled to center field and Aubree Rivas walked, each scoring one run to give the Loboettes a 3-1 lead.
The Loboettes added onto their lead in the bottom of the second inning after Madilyn Barrientes hit a double down the right field line and Tambree Vargas grounded out, each scoring one run a piece, making the score 5-1.
Richland got their last run of the game in the top of the fifth inning after they hit a pop out to first baseman, scoring one run making the final score 5-2.
Rivas earned the win for the Loboettes as she gave up three hits and two runs (zero earned) over five innings, striking out two and walking three throughout the game.
Loboettes Saydi Mendez, Delgado, Castellano and Barrientes all collected one hit in the game while Barrientes, Rivas, Vargas and Castellano each drove in one run. Tiffany File paced Levelland with two walks while the team had six walks throughout the game. Mendez led the team in stolen bases with two.
Levelland 3, Lubbock High School 0
The second game of the day was against the Lubbock High Lady Westerners where the Loboettes won against them 3-0 to end Thursday.
Levelland was the first team on the board in the top of the first inning after Adrianna Castellano hit a single on a line drive to center field, making the score 1-0.
The Loboettes were able to add onto that lead in the top of the second inning after Delgado hit a ground ball and reached base on an error, scoring one run to send inVargas to make the score 2-0.
The last run of the game came off of a Barrientes double as she hit a line drive to left field, scoring one run to make the final score 3-0, in a very defensive game.
Danica Rivera earned the win for the Loboettes as she gave up two hits and zero runs over six innings, striking out none and walking none.
Going undefeated on the first day of the tournament was a great sign as the Loboettes only took one loss in the tournament.
Levelland played two more games on Friday with them going 1-1 as they lost to Fossil Ridge 31, then won against Saginaw 12-0 in four innings.

Levelland took their first loss of the tournament and first loss of the year as they fell to the Lady Panthers 3-1.
The first score came from Fossil Ridge as they took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first after they hit a sacrifice fly, and an error by third baseman, both scored one run a piece making the score 2-0.
Levelland got their only run of the game in the top of the third quarter after Delylah Paredez grounded out, scoring a run to make the score 2-1.
The Lady Panthers were able to get their last run of the game off of a hard ground ball that they reached on an error giving them the 3-1 win over Levelland.
Rivas took the loss for the Loboettes as she gave up three runs (one earned) on five hits, striking out four and walking three in the game.
Madison Seat, File, Rivera, Barrientes and Castellano each collected one hit for the Loboettes while Paredez led the team with one run batted in.
Levelland 12, Saginaw 0
Although the Loboettes took their first loss of the year, they were able to bounce back hard as they mercy-ruled Saginaw 12-0.
Levelland took a commanding lead in the top of the second inning after Mari Reyna hit a single on a hard ground ball to left field, Mendez drew a walk and Barrientes hit a triple on a line drive to left field, making the score 5-0 in the blink of an eye.
The Loboettes added to their lead in the top of the third inning after Paredez hit a single on a fly ball, scoring one run and Mendez hit a double on a fly ball to center field, scoring two runs, making the score 8-0.
The final blow of the game was in the top of the fourth inning after Reyna was hit by a pitch, scoring one run and Rivas hit a single on a line drive to left field, scoring one run and Alliana Lopez doubled on a fly ball, scoring one run to make the final score 12-0.
Rivera earned the win for the Loboettes as she gave up zero hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out six and walking none.
Barrientes and Mendez each drove in three runs for the Loboettes while Mendez led Levelland with two walks out of the team’s six throughout the game.
The Loboettes finished off Friday with a record of 3-1 in the tournament with only two games left to play on Saturday.
On Saturday Levelland went undefeated once more as they beat Haltom 6-4 and Irving 12-1.

For the first game of Saturday Levelland was able to outdo the Halton Lady Buffaloes where they won 6-4 in three innings.
Levelland opened up the scoring early in the game after Castellano singled, scoring one run, an error scored two runs, File singled on a fly ball to left field, scoring one run and Rivera singled on a line drive to right field, making the score 5-0 early in the game.
Although Levelland was off to a great start the Lady Buffaloes were able to answer right back by getting four runs of their own the bottom of the first inning, making the score 5-4, Levelland still leading.
Although the game started out eventful, the last run of the game came from Castellano hitting a fly out to right field, scoring one run to make the final score of the game 6-4.
Rivas earned the win for Levelland as she gave up two hits and four runs (zero earned) over two and two-third innings while striking out three and walking one.
Castellano drove the middle of the lineup with two runs batted in while Mendez set the tone of the lineup, with two hits in three at bats in the game.
Levelland 12, Irving 1
For the final game of the tournament for the Loboettes they were able to take on the Irving Lady Tigers where they run-ruled them 12-1, after five innings.
Levelland was on the board first after they got three runs in the top of the first inning after File hit a single on a fly ball to right field, scoring one run and Reyna hit a triple on a fly ball to right field, scoring two runs, making the score 3-0 early.
Irving got their only run of the game in the bottom of the first inning after an error scored one run making the score 3-1, at the bottom of the first.
The Loboettes kept it rolling as Barrientes hit a double on a line drive to left field, scoring one run and Delgado hit a inside the park home run, scoring two runs, making the score 6-1 at the top of the second inning.
Levelland added onto their lead in the top of the third inning after Rivera hit a doubled to left field, scoring one run, Barrientes singled on a hard ground ball to left field, scoring two runs and an error scored another run to make the score 10-1.
The Loboettes put the final touches of the game in the top of the fifth inning after Delgado hit a sacrifice fly to right field, scoring one run and Vargas scored on a wild pitch, giving Levelland the win and ending the tournament strong.
Rivera earned the win for the Loboettes as she gave up one hit and one run over two innings, striking out five and walking two in the game. Natalia Vargas threw for two innings of relief for Levelland as she gave up one hit and no runs with two walks and one strikeout.
The Levelland Loboettes progress to 18-1-1 on the season as they get ready to take on the Midland High Lady Bulldogs this Friday at home at 5 p.m. after going up against the Plainview Lady Bulldogs this past Tuesday night on the road.
