The Whiteface Lady Lopes hosted the Morton Maidens this past Friday night where they won 57-8 in district play.
From the jump it was all Whiteface as they scored 27 points in the first quarter while they held Morton to just two points, taking a 25-point lead.
The second quarter was the same thing as they outscored the Maidens 15-0, holding them scoreless in the second to make the score 42-2 at the halftime break.
Leading the Lady Lopes in scoring at the half was Emily Blankenship with 11 points, 10 of them from inside the paint.
For the Morton Maidens the leading scorer for them was Alison Yanez with two points from under the basket.
Out of the break, Whiteface extended their lead with them scoring 10 points while holding Morton to only two more points to make the score 52-4, heading into the fourth quarter.
For the final quarter of excitement the Lady Lopes outscored the Maidens 5-4 to put the game away and win their district game.
Leading the Lady Lopes in scoring was Hannah Blankenship with 13 points. Emily Blankenship had 11 points, Tymmyah Olenga had 10 points, Kambri Sanders had nine points, Abi Soliz had seven, Jaedyn Rector had four, Kaylee Gonzalez had two and Anais Soliz finished with one point.
For the Morton Maidens the leading scorer was Yanez with six points. Blaize Garza finished with two points.
The Whiteface Lady Lopes are 26-2 on the season while remaining undefeated in district play with a 7-0 record. The Lady Lopes next game is against the Ropes Lady Eagles this Friday at home at 6:15 p.m.
For the Morton Maidens they move down to 2-18 on the season as they go down to 0-8 in district play. The Maidens next game is against the Smyer Lady Cats this Friday at home at 6:15 p.m.
