Area Cross Country Results

The local area teams competed in the UIL Region 1 Championship this past Monday and Tuesday where we had a few state qualifiers and teams place well.

The Levelland Boys team placed 15th out of 29 teams in 4A with the team’s fastest runner being Saul Hernandez placing 19th with a time of 16:53.40. as he moves onto State in Round Rock November 1st. Ryan Jeanneret placed 66th, Kaiden Medina placed 120th, Rene Franco placed 125th, Angel Miranda placed 131st, Zaden Carrillo placed 145th and Brian Billington placed 154th.

For the Levelland Girls team they placed 14th out of 33 teams with their fastest runner being Evelyn Mendias placing 52nd with a time of 13:38.40. Ariani Lopez placed 75th, Avani Lopez placed 90th, Elizabeth Torres placed 95th, Emily Medina placed 99th, Georgia McMahan placed 134th and Emily Ramirez placed 143rd.

In the 2A Mens 5,000 Meter run the best team out of our area teams was Sundown as they placed sixth out of 38 teams with their best runner being Lincoln Keesler placing 23rd with a time of 18:07.70. Rolando Rivera placed 35th, Jaydith Shelton placed 37th, Daniel Mauldin placed 64th, Sebastian Posadas placed 73rd, Ryder Stanley placed 136th and Corey Goodman placed 141st.

The second best team in the area for the 2A was the Smyer Bobcats as they placed seventh as a team. Although they were lower as a team they had three runners advance to state. Micah Zapata placed fourth with a time of 17:06.10, Ismael Pizano placed seventh with a time of 17:22.40 and Austin Martinez placed eighth place with a time of 17:24.30. Jose Bueno placed 120th, Nick Baker placed 144th and Ryder Stracener placed 148th.

Ropes had one runner compete for the school in Chase Schumm who placed 42nd with a time of 18:57.10.

On the girls side of the 2A two mile run the best area team was Sundown who placed third as a team to move onto state. The best runner for the Roughettes was Kaytlin Clausen who placed 11th with a time of 13:00.10. Avy McGlasson placed 21st, Julia Posadas placed 34th, Sarah Posadas placed 39th, Kassady Rodgers placed 42nd, Maddy Medrano placed 99th and Addilyn Hord placed 149th.

Whiteface was the second best team in 2A with their team placing eighth out of 33 teams. The Lady Lopes best runner was Kambry Sanders who placed 29th with a time of 13:32.90. Anais Soliz placed 30th, Lainey Sanders placed 41st, Emily Blankenship placed 73rd, Kaylee Gonzales placed 92nd, Hannah Blankenship placed 138th and Jaedyn Rector placed 163rd.

The Smyer Lady Cats placed 24th as a team with their best runner being Skylar Wiseman placing 67th with a time of 14:15.20. Kira Posadas placed 133rd, Abbi Hood placed 145th, Adi Vega placed 150th and Berenicce Lara placed 164th.

For the Mens 5,000 meter run in 1A the best area team that placed was the Whitharral Panthers who placed 13th as a team with their best runner being Trey Villegas who placed 47th with a time of 20:00.50. Daniel Rodriguez placed 68th, Hudson Dobrovolny placed 88th, Ryder Graf placed 89th, Isaiah Acevedo placed 99th, Nehemiah Martinez placed 114th and Hudson Lee placed 124th.

The Anton Bulldogs had one runner compete in Adrian Castillo who placed 92nd with a time of 22:16.70.

In the Girls two mile run the best area team that placed was the Whitharral Lady Cats who were 20th with their best runner being Sheridan Neal placing 48th with a time of 14:29.00. Rylee Kristinek placed 80th, Trinity Coronado placed 94th, Emma Gonzales placed 118th, Ashtyn Potter placed 125th, Madyson Nickelson placed 132nd and Emberly Prowell placed 142nd.

The last area team that competed was the Anton Lady Dogs as they placed 23rd with their best runner being Jessica Rodriguez placing 90th with a time of 15:48.80. Alisiah Alafa placed 126th, Lauren Llanas placed 140th, Miliana Castillo placed 149th and Liberty Peek placed 153rd.
