The Smyer Bobcats hosted the New Home Leapords this past Friday for UIL District Baseball play where the Bobcats fell 14-0.
New Home had four runs in the top of the first inning, seven in the top of the third inning and three in the top of the fourth inning, holding the Bobcats scoreless throughout the game.
The Bobcats had four walks throughout the game with two coming from Austin Martinez and the other two coming from Jose Paredes.
Price stepped on the mound first for the Bobcats as he gave up four hits and 11 runs (six earned) over two and one-third innings, striking out none and walking four.
Austin Martinez came in relief for the Bobcats as he gave up two hits and three runs (three earned) over one and one-third innings striking out one and walking eight.
Skylar Pond ended the game for Smyer as he gave up one hit and zero runs over one and onethird innings, striking out three and walking two throughout the game.
The Bobcats fall to 10-7-1 on the season while going down to 5-6 in district play.
The Smyer Bobcats took on the Lubbock Titans this past Monday as the visiting team and are getting ready to take on Trinity Christian this Friday at home at 4 p.m.
