Eagles down Steers, at Farwell

    The Ropes Eagles downed the state-ranked Farwell Steers 79-48 last Tuesday in UIL high school boys’ basketball action at Farwell.

    Ropes led 20-14 at the end of the first quarter and 41-27 at halftime. They led 55-42 at the end of three quarters.

    Branson Simental led all scorers with 21 points. Darren Kizer had 13. Kade Franklin and E.J. Mendez had 11 each.

    Brennan Bearden had nine. Landon Nale had seven. Bode Franklin had four. Brady Bryan had two and Reese Williams had a single free throw.

    The Eagles will be in action next Tuesday when the Sudan Hornets come to town for a 6:30 p.m. game.
