The Ropes Eagles took on the New Home Leopards this past Friday at home where their team lost 60-31 in district basketball play.
The first quarter of the game started off slow for the Eagles as they only got two points to fall for them in the first while allowing the Leopards to get 14 points, taking a 12 point lead early.
For the second quarter of play Ropes was outscored again 9-8 losing the quarter by one point. Ropes offense was having trouble shooting the ball as all of their points came from driving the ball inside the paint and under the basket.
The score at the halftime break was Ropes trailing 23-10.
Leading the Eagles in scoring at the halftime break was both Brady Bryan and Darren Kizer who both had four points a piece.
Going into the third quarter of the game Ropes was outscored once again 17-9 as their deficit going into the fourth quarter would grow to 21 points.
For the final quarter of play New Home got 20 points to fall for them while Ropes only got 12 points, eight of them coming from inside the paint.
Kizer was the only Eagle to finish with double digit points as he had 10 on the night.
Cutter Stumbo and Landon Nale both had five points a piece, Branson Simental and Bryan both had four points a piece, Kade Franklin had two points and Reese Williams finished with one point in the teams loss.
Ropes falls to 22-8 on the season while going 7-4 in district play sitting in third place.
The team played their last game of district play against the Sundown Roughnecks this past Tuesday as the visiting team.
