The Ropes Eagles lost their first game of the season, 64-60 on the road against the Sudan Hornets in UIL High School Boys’ Basketball action last Tuesday.
The Eagles led 15-8 at the end of the first period, but Sudan came roaring back for a 29-28 lead at halftime.
The Hornets held their slim lead at the third, 42-41 and were able to pull away slightly in the fourth.
Branson Simental had 13 points. Kade Franklin, Reese Williams and Braxxin Partington had 10 each.
Landon Nale had nine. E.J. Mendez and Brennan Bearden had three each. Brady Bryan had two.
The Eagles will play against their last non-district game of the year against Petersburg this Friday as the away team at 7:30 P.M.
