Eagles take down Antelopes 72-27, in Ropes

The Ropes Eagles took on the Whiteface Antelopes at home this past Monday for the Antelopes first game of the season.

The Eagles took the win in a convincing way, winning the game 72-27 at home.

The first quarter was very close as neither team was able to outshine the other. It was a defensive standoff that ended the first quarter with Ropes leading 13-12.

The second quarter of the game the Eagles were able to get some separation from the Antelopes as they outscored them 19-to-8 and extending their lead 32-20 at halftime.

After the break it was all Ropes as the Antelopes were in foul trouble and wouldnt be able to handle the Ropes full court press well.

In the third the Eagles outscored the Antelopes 25-to-3 and extended their lead even more to put the game out of reach with a score of 57-23.

Ropes was able to win the game by burning out the clock as they won at home 72-to-27 against Whiteface.

The scoring leader for the Ropes Eagles was Landon Nale who had 19 points on the night with 10 of those points coming in the third quarter.

Branson Simental was able to put up 13 more points with six of those points coming from three’s in the fourth quarter.

Kade Franklin added in another 10, Darren Kizer had nine, Reese Williams had eight, Kaden Bryan had seven, Brennan Bearden had five and E.J. Mendez had one.

For the Whiteface Antelopes the leading scorer was Josh Whitehead who had nine points on the night with all of them coming from beyond the arch.

Isaak Soliz added another seven on the night with four of those points coming from the front half of the game.

Cayden Timmons added another six on the day, Auscar Gandara and Ethan Kauffman each had two a piece and Noah Rendon had one on the night.

Ropes will play against the Smyer Bobcats as the away team on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

Whiteface will try to bounce back from their loss and will face-off against the Kress Kangaroos this upcoming Tuesday as the away team at 7:30 p.m.
