Lady Eagles handle Seagraves in district play

The Ropes Lady Eagles took on the Seagraves Lady Eagles this past Tuesday in district play at home where they girls won 7419.

From the tip-off Ropes had the immediate advantage throughout the game as they came into the game ready to play.

The first quarter of the game Ropes was able to outscore Seagraves 27-to-8 taking a huge lead going into the second quarter.

For the second quarter of play Ropes defense wouldn’t let up as they would only allow three points before the halftime break while putting up an additional 18 points of their own to extend their lead to 34.

The score at the half was Ropes leading 45-11.

Leading Ropes in scoring at the half was Aubrey Bandy as she was able to get 13 points in the first half, nine of them coming from long range.

Going into the third quarter of play Ropes would pick up where they left off as they would have another 18 points in the third while holding the Seagraves Lady Eagles scoreless in the third.

For the final quarter of play Ropes would put the game away as they would outscore Seagraves 16-to-8 and take the big district win.

The Ropes Eagles had three players finish in double digits for the night in scoring.

Bandy led the team in scoring as she finished with 21 on the night, Campbell Latta finished with 18 and Madi Reyna finished with 15, with 14 of her points coming from inside the paint.

Delyla Stark had six, Lacy Bloskas finished with five, Bree Stumbo had four, both Kandis Rodriguez and Mallorie Perez had three a piece, and Rylee Mcdaniel and Bailey Turner both finished with two points in the teams win.

The Ropes Lady Eagles progress to 19-7 on the season while sitting at 5-4 in district play in fourth place.

The Lady Eagles next game of the season is against the Plains Cowgirls this Tuesday as the visiting team at 6:15 p.m.
