Lady Lopes rout Roughettes in district play to remain undefeated

    The Whiteface Lady Lopes dominated the Sundown Roughettes 69-11 last Friday in UIL District 5-2A high school girls’ basketball action in Whiteface.

    Whiteface held the Roughettes scoreless in the first half, leading 44-0 at halftime.

    The Lady Lopes led 64-9 at the end of three quarters.

    Hannah Blankenship led the Lady Lopes with 14 points. Tymmyah Olenga had 12.

    Emily Blankenship had nine. Jaedyn Rector and Abi Soliz had eight points each.

    Lainey Sanders had seven points. Kambry Sanders had six. Anias Soliz had five.

    For the Roughettes, Allie McCormick had four points, Hannah Holdman had three and Camry Jourdan and Katy Flores had two each.

    The Lady Lopes finished the first round of district play at 6-0 and 25-2 overall. They will be in Seagraves on Tuesday at 6:15 p.m.

    Sundown will host Ropes at 6:15 p.m. Friday.
